PEI Association of Sector Councils
and The Employment Journey

In January 2006, PEIASC and The Employment Journey entered into a collaborative relationship that builds on mutual goals to inform and educate the labour force and other key individuals and groups on PEI in an effort to:

  • improve the connection between the labour force and the labour market when it comes to awareness of challenges, requirements, developments, potentials and human resource planning and strategies particularly where they address issues around unfilled jobs and high unemployment
  • encourage awareness of current and future human resource demands and promote strategic efforts to meet these requirements to address HR issues across the province
  • create awareness of career opportunities and awareness of activities and initiatives undertaken by the PEIASC and provincial sector council groups
The Employment Journey team is very excited about this new working relationship. We have always made it a point to connect with appropriate community representatives in order to bring our readers accurate and current employment-related information, but this new arrangement will be a formal process to ensure connectedness with sector representatives. As a result of this new system, I believe our content will improve, which we hope will provide our readers with a greater understanding of the employment opportunities and potential on PEI.
